The marina with some of the main shopping street in the background. It was so quaint!
We bought a bag of salt water taffy and enjoyed it while taking a stroll on Watch Hill's beautiful beach.
The beach homes were gorgeous too!
The weather was ideal that day and we both got in the water for a bit and had a blast enjoying the ocean and beach. My 8-month pregnant body in a bathing suit is quite a sight!! :)
Check out this fancy resort, the Ocean House. We were curious how much it cost to stay there and found on their website that their least expensive rooms are about $600/night!!
After Watch Hill we drove to Mystic and checked in at our bed and breakfast, got cleaned up, and headed to downtown Mystic. We loved seeing all the different types of boats on the river.
We had dinner at S&P Oyster Company; the food was delicious, the riverside view was gorgeous, and the company was wonderful!
We spent the night at this cute B&B, we loved our room!
In the morning we went on a drive around Mystic and its surrounding towns. Stonington had a nice, little beach...
...and a neat lighthouse.
After our drive we went back to Mystic and got some yummy ice cream, check out the view from the ice cream shop!
We took a 40-minute cruise on the Mystic river, it was very relaxing.
We thought Captain Rick was so fun and a really nice guy. Doesn't he look like a seafaring man?!
Our last stop was at the Olde Mistick Village shopping center. The style of the shops reminded me of Gardner Village in West Jordan, Utah. We got a chocolate-dipped banana from Munson's Chocolates, it was a sweet way to finish our little getaway!

Amy! Looks like such a fun trip! I love how you guys are always going off on little adventures! We should go on an adventure together sometime!
I can't believe you've been married for 3 years! That's gone by fast :) You are so cute, Amy. And before you know it, your little one will be here. It might not seem to go fast but when you look back it will. I can't wait to hear all about this guy. And post lots of pictures!!
I love Mystic! And I'm so glad that you had dinner at S&P. That's where we went, when we were there and it was so yummy and such a beautiful setting. It's so fun to get to sit outside by the water and watch the little boats go by.
And your 8-month pregnant bathing suit is super adorable! We'll have to check out Watch Hill now.
Happy Anniversary you guys!
I totally agree with Tammy that you look adorable, what looks better than an 8 month tummy... a 9 month one! You look GREAT! We love stonington, so I'm glad you found it. It looks like the beach was really cool with waves, we'll have to try that out next time.
Looks like so much fun! You look adorable! Love you guys!
That sounds like a great trip -- and beautiful too -- hopefully your weather was good -- we've had some yucky weather near us lately!
You look so cute Amy (and, we won't leave you out Dave -- so do you!) I hope you are feeling well enough -- it really will end.
Good luck to you both this next month! So EXCITING!!!
Happy Anniversary! It looks like you had a wonderful trip and saw some pretty sights. It will be fun to see some pictures of your little man when he arrives!
