One of the best perks of living in New Haven is its proximity to both New York City and Boston. Dave and I try to get to the temple every month, which means we get to make a trip to one of these fabulous cities each time.
In May we went to the Manhattan temple. While David did a session Josh and I explored near the temple. Here is Josh (and his toy crab) at the Metropolitan Opera. What a sophisticated baby!
While I was in the temple, Josh and Dave visited Central Park! The Manhattan temple is in an amazing location.
After our time at the temple, we went to Magnolia Bakery for some cupcakes. Yum!
This month we went to the Boston Temple. Afterward, we stayed the night at Matt and Dionne's home. We love all the excitement and happiness in their home with their six children! We have loved living in New England at the same time as Matt's family. It has been such a blessing and comfort to have my big brother live relatively close!
The next day we all visited Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's home in Cambridge. Isn't it a beauty?!
The home also has a beautifully kept yard and garden. One of my wishes is to learn to garden! In our next apartment I want to have some window boxes or flower pots to start honing my green thumb!
Nearly all of the furniture in the home was owned and used by Longfellow and his family. He was a professor of languages at Harvard and had a huge collection of books. The home still has his nearly 10,000-book collection. The books are housed in almost every room, David was in heaven looking at them!
Our family outside of the home.
A big thanks to Josh for being such a great little traveller on these fun trips!
