So...What's Next?

UPenn Law!

We were so excited when David was accepted to UPenn's Law School in May.  After visiting the UPenn campus and Philadelphia last month, we can hardly wait for this next chapter of our lives to begin!  Here we are visiting UPenn's beautiful main campus.  Benjamin Franklin founded the university in 1740.

Josh was clearly the favorite visitor at the law school.  One employee found a "future Penn lawyer" bib, a onesie, and a sweater for Josh, while David and I were only given two Penn Law T-shirts (though they are nice).  Here David and Josh are posing in one of the main lecture rooms at the law school.

After touring Penn's campus we spent the next day visiting fabulous historic Philadelphia.  Here Josh and I are near the tomb of the unknown revolutionary war soldier in Washington Park.  It is a beautiful park kitty-corner to Independence Hall.

Perhaps the highlight of our trip was visiting Independence Hall.  Notice how alert, happy, and awake Josh is...

The historic significance of the site was just too much for Josh.  He fell asleep at the very beginning of the tour, and stayed sound asleep until we walked out.  Josh and David are in the Judicial Hall in this picture.

Across from the Judicial Hall is the iconic Legislative Hall where the Declaration of Independence was debated and signed, as well as the Constitution.  George Washington frequently sat at the center table.

For lunch we walked to Franklin Square, a fabulous park complete with a carousel, mini-golf course, fountains, and a little burger joint.

We enjoyed an All-American lunch of hamburger, hot dog, french fries, lemonade, and chocolate milkshake.  Josh, on the other hand, had his typical meal of sweet potatoes, pureed chicken, peas, and carrots.  Perhaps that's why his smile isn't quite as big as mine in this picture!  :)

A ride on the carousel perked him right up!  He was smiling through the whole ride.  It was so fun!

I thought the miniature golf course was so cute with its models of historic buildings in Philadelphia.

We visited the Fed and then the mint.  Check out my copper-penny bracelet I bought at the mint.  

Another favorite stop was a guided tour of the Christ's Church cemetery.  Here we experienced the only rain of the day.  We are standing in front of Benjamin Franklin's personally written epitaph.  

We were charmed by Elfreth's Alley, which claims to be the oldest continuously residential street in America.  It is really cute!

One of our last stops in historical Philadelphia was Christ's Church, where many of the Founding Fathers worshipped.  

On our last day visiting Philadelphia we drove to the Museum of Art.  These are the steps Rocky Balboa ran up.  We were impressed by the myriad of bikers and runners enjoying the beautiful morning.

We couldn't resist posing Josh by the noble Rocky.  We loved our visit to Philadelphia and are so excited to call it home in the coming months!
