Lovely May

While my parents were visiting, David and I went on a date to see the Van Gogh Up Close exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  It was such a beautiful exhibit and we enjoyed viewing it so much.  We took a walk around the museum afterward and saw this artist set up in the Azalea Gardens.

This makes me happy.

We heard about Philadelphia's new Sister Cities Park that had its Grand Opening in mid-May.  It's an awesome park located adjacent to the lot that the church purchased for the Philadelphia Temple!

There's a cute cafe located at the park.  We split a chocolate cupcake with orange frosting to celebrate our discovery of another awesome park to play at! :)

We had one final play date with Talmage and Tanner before their sweet family moved from Philadelphia. With UPenn's May graduation we said goodbye to a lot of wonderful friends.  You'd think we'd get used to goodbyes having been in wards where a lot of people are in school, but it just doesn't get any easier.  :(

We took Josh on a run up the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art one nice evening.  It's fun seeing people recreating Rocky's famous run up these stairs and it was high time our family did it too!

We were victorious in running the Rocky Steps!   Our reward was this awesome view of the city at the top of the stairs.

On Saturday May 12th, we took a great bike ride up to Wissahickon Valley Park.   We rode up the Schuylkill River Trail to the Wissahickon Valley Trail and ended at Rittenhousetown.

We had brought a little picnic with us and enjoyed running around for a while before heading home.

On our way back home from Rittenhousetown we watched some crew racing on the Schuylkill River.  The races were part of the Dad Vail Regatta, the largest collegiate regatta in the United States.  It was fun to watch!   Our bike ride was 15-miles all around, which was the longest trip we had done with Josh.  We all had a great time, it was a wonderful day!
