Christmastime in the City

(Amy) The day after Christmas, Dave and I headed to New Jersey to enjoy the sights and sounds of New York with Ben, Jenn, and Henry. Once again, we were reminded of the blessing it is to have such wonderful friends living so relatively close. They were great tour guides showing us all the attractions there are during Christmastime in New York. We visited the ice skating rink at Bryant Park, but the long lines to rent skates attenuated our desire to join the revelers in skating! Instead we went for lunch at a great place called Cosi and then walked to the Rockefeller Center to see "the tree" and the ice skating rink there. Ben and Jenn then dropped us off at Broadhurst Theater where we saw an incredible performance of "Les Miserables." Tickets to the show were our Christmas gift to each other this year. It was wonderful and we're so glad that we saw the show before it goes off Broadway again!
After the show, we returned to Ben and Jenn's for a wonderful meal made by Jenn, then to sing carols, play games, and visit until late at night.
Spending Christmas in Manhattan was a treat that we never would have dreamed we'd be doing just last year.
