(Amy) Early Saturday morning (about 1:00 AM), I awoke to hear a huge cacophony outside. I was pretty groggy and just tried to go back to sleep. A few minutes later, our doorbell was ringing with our neighbors there waiting to tell us that our car had been struck by a drunk driver who had fled from the scene. I felt strangely calm as we went outside to survey the damage. Not only had the drunk driver hit our car, they had hit our neighbor's truck that was parked behind us and had hit a tree in our neighbor's yard. The force of the impact had pushed our car over the curb and up onto our neighbor's sidewalk and lawn! As you can see from the pictures, the body of the car has been heavily damaged. A wonderful police officer responded to our neighbor's call and we really owe all policemen a lot of respect. For now, Dave and I are using a rental car (a zippy little Kia Optima) and have filed a claim with our insurance. We'll keep you posted on the situation. These incidents are great reminders that our lives are not always in our own hands.

Amy-
It was fun to find your blog through Jenn and Ben. We are jelous of where you live. It looks so beautiful, and has so many fun places close by to visit. We also thought it was fun to see that your stake pres. name is Stratford. He must be a cool guy :> So sorry about your wreck. That is not fun at all. Glad you are okay.
